    1. Tutors can't receive bad reviews so all the ratings are inflated and in effect fake. 2. Tutor didn't turn up for lessons, cancelled lessons and then blocks the student to avoid the bad reviews since preply won't let you leave a review for a tutor if you're blocked. Reply to preply. You aren't free to express your opinion. It wasn't deleted. You can't leave a review for a tutor once they block you. We were blocked so we couldn't leave her a review at all. Neve me left a review before.

Subscription model with a lot of constraints and not appropriate if you take only 25-minutes lessons each week. You end up with so many lessons that you unfortunately cannot book in time before the next charge. You waste a lot of money!

Would be great if not for the subscription model. Also the restrictive credits system that makes transfer near impossible. The worst part is if you get a tutor that cancels on you on short notice, then you will get charged a lesson credit still. The platform doesn't allow the student to reschedule within 12 hours of the lesson. If you contact support, their response can be effectively summed up as "Contact your tutor and deal with it yourself." Personally, I would use something else.

The app is useful only in a couple of cases: to schedule on the spot & to message/receive messages from teachers. To perform other tasks, the app is faulty, including scheduling sessions, cancelling-rescheduling sessions & transfering your balance between teachers. For all else it is necessary to use a computer, so I would say that the preply app is accurately critiqued at just 2 stars.

I'm usually sceptical about language learning apps, but this app proved to be quite useful. It's easy to find teacher for the afforadble price, the tools witin the app also makes learning more "at home" because they have classrom so you don't have to jump off to Zoom or similar app, everything is on one place. Also, scheduling a lesson is breeze, you can also sync it with Google Calendar so you don't miss them. Kudos to the developers!

Can you find good tutors on Preply? Yes, but also really bad ones, so you have to do lots of research, trial and error. The other part is the app its functionality. That mostly works but not always; we had recently a technical issue, both student and tutor did what they could but ended up missing 40 out of 60 minutes of the lesson. In such situations Preply won't help or make up for your loss. They just take their cut and go.

It's easy to find tutors, get/send messages, and schedule lessons. It could have been more transparent about how subscriptions work, though. You have to pay for a month at a time, with a minimum of four lessons. The other thing that was a little problem the first time is that the actual lessons work better on a laptop because if the tutor shares their screen, it's too small to see on a phone screen.

I am extremely disappointed with the deceiving auto refill and refund policy and the uncaring and dismissive customer service. Avoid the auto-refill at all cost! It was intentionally made for money grab. Read the other reviews of this topic! I would use other services out there that do business honestly and with care to their customers.
