It's actually more stable and much better than the Facebook version which is refreshing. The major setback is indeed the ads. They'll show you an ad, then ask if you want to boost your rewards (in game coins to purchase boards and emojis) by watching an even longer ad. It's not that bad though. I love the puzzles. The worst part is the battery drain. It literally chews it up. 4 stars.

This is probably the worst app I have every used. It's got great features to learn chess and analyze games after to see where you went wrong, BUT it has so much else that's bad. Like, for two mini games/puzzles (10-15 sec each) you have to watch an ad, you can only do two lessons a day, and one of them you have to watch an ad to unlock, and routinely fails to upload your data of completing puzzles or starting a game because it can't sync to the network. It's incredibly frustrating! Not worth it.

Ads, ads, ads. Hello Devs, thanks for your reply. I understand ads are important, but the sheer amount of them makes the game almost unplayable. How am I to check if I enjoy it if I get an ad stuck in my face before playing a game, after playing one, basically almost at every action? That does not make me want to purchase the "remove ads" item, it makes me want to uninstall and get a different chess app. Monetisation is important, but you need to entice a user first.

This is a great app for anyone's level of chess. It can teach lessons from basics to tactics and it also has some enjoyable customization of boards, avatars, and emojis. 3 things to nitpick: 1. I feel the options for timer choices is a bit slim. I wish we could choose the base time and bonus time. 2. For friends, I wish I could see their status if they are online or not. 3. Everything is on the slow side. I'm fine with slower apps myself, but I feel like this could drive some people away.

This app is fine, but one thing that is annoying is when the puzzles force you to play one specific move. If you do not you lose. I am a well experienced chess player and I have made moves that would be a checkmate in the puzzle, yet the engine considers the move wrong because it was not the check mate they were expecting. Its limiting and irritating.

Way too many ads and pop-ups. I've watched more ads than played chess... Not only that, whenever you start the app a puzzle starts. If you exit that an starts. Once that's over you get a pop-up, followed by 3 more until you finally see a play screen. Then another ad once you hit play... When your actually playing you get redirected often to an advertisement on your browser... This app is TERRIBLE.

Visually appealing, addictive, with smooth movement of pieces. Playing area is excellent, with lots of time controls. Room for improvement though. The app is too money orientated. Even if you pay for a subscription, you get bombarded with lots of things to buy. When you fail a tactic you can't go over it afterwards, so you never know where you went wrong and you don't learn, surely one of the main points of doing tactics. A lot of effort has gone into it and they deserve credit for a good app.

Server needs fixing as I've lost multiple games due to the games crashing on me. This occurs mostly when a match would go over 20 mins long. Also the puzzles are really confusing, I can't tell whether you want me to checkmate instantly in one turn or to set it up. It really makes me choose the wrong option 90% of the time, but that's the thing, you either do what exactly what the game wants you to do or you fail, by simply adding more options to solve the puzzles, you add more replayability.

Your record is the most important result, and I have lose so many games due to no fault of my own. This app has bugs that will make your screen go black, freeze up, or disconnect from home wi fi and mobile networks. I have the best mobile network in the country! So its no fault of my own. What really sucks is I play Blitz which is only one minute per move. And usually by the time you fix the error you have been defeated because your clock timed out.
