I've used malwarebytes premium for 5+years without any issues. Then one day my laptop got a ransomeware virus which locked me out of the internet. The perp took remote control of my computer mouse. He demanded $299 plus tax and tech fees. His popup said he was from windows 11 defender. Now I have it at a comp repair shop for a week. Malwarebytes didn't protect me from this attack.

Won't even attempt to work on a rooted phone. Your response says you're aware that rooted phones are more vulnerable, so you decide to refuse to even try to protect the most vulnerable devices? Cool. Awesome. Good job.

We've had Malwarebytes Premium for 3 years and are very pleased. None of our protected devices has had any issues from any malicious software/websites. This year, we've upgraded to their VPN/identity protection premium plan (not the most expensive or expansive premium plan, the others monitor all of your socials and dark web). The first year's protection was extremely affordable. So far, everything is working as advertised. We are likely going to be lifelong customers of Malwarebytes.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. To start using the free version, you're forced to enter a payment method for a "free" trial, with no way to bypass it. Shame on this company. Malwarebytes free works fine for desktop/laptop version, but my advice would be to stay away from the mobile version.

Back in 2009, this is one of the first programs I bought using my own money as a young IT Pro and encouraged others to do so. The free version was such an effective tool that saved me so much time and effort of reformatting infected machines, I simply had to support the company out of thanks and respect. That era is over, sadly. Now, the product is a husk of what is once was in terms of effectiveness and you need a credit card to access the "free" version. I'll find something else to recommend.

Beware the free trial. Once it expires it automatically charged you £43.00 without the option of not continuing. Google play send an email you have no right as you have permission. A bit of a scam by both in my opinion

Is there not a free version of this? I know there is for pc, but it's premium or premium plus, for phones? I'm a bit disappointed. Response to comment: Making people give credit card info is a good way to get people to try your stuff? Maybe let people have the free version but discount the paywall sections instead? I, and I'm sure many potential users aren't going to waste our time and personal info on paywalled free use. You and yours could have planned this business strategy better.

I cant find a way to restart my subscription after the update. There used to be a button I could restart a paused or cancelled sub in my google play. Now it just says expired but im still logged in the app and the app links to 'upgrade' to premium do nothing.

Don't intend to give playstore my credit card details so cannot subscribe/unsubscribe to get free version to do a quick check of a probably False alert. Seems wrong that a security app demands that I compromise my privacy. Stop advertising it as a free app if you want to keep your credibility.
